The Story of Sybill Fish

Once there was a detective
whose true wish and
desire was to be a
famous cartoonist.
He was asked by
a very bad man to track
down a lady,
who was his daughter.
He did not want to,
so the bad man
kidnapped his little sister.
He did track the lady
down, but she and some
other people helped him
trick the bad man
and rescued his little sister.
The man and his little sister
went very far away
to hide from the bad man.

Once there, the man tried
to be a cartoonist.
He sent the lady many cartoons
he drew of her and was
trying to sell, because
he thought she was a
very brave person indeed to
rescue his sister, and wanted
everyone to know
how wonderful, brave,
and exciting
she was.

But the lady thought
the cartoons were very silly
because they were not like her at all,
and sometimes not true.

He finally got a job
drawing children's books.
He drew the following cartoon
and sent it to the lady.

The lady liked
it very much, for it
was very true.
She also liked it because
she knew that
she was Sybill Fish.

Moral:
It was sad that the lady
thought she had no friends.

It is more sad that the lady
really had friends, but still thought
she didn't have any.

Let your friends know
that you are their friend,
like the man did for
the lady.  She was glad
to find out, and
they will be too.
